Want your research to reach a wide audience, improve your online presence and increase reproducibility in science? If you are a researcher or are interested in research, OpenRes is the event for you!
Over three day, you will analyse openly available data using a digital tool of your choice and learn to communicate the results through a webpage.

As the Omeka community continues to grow, so does the scope and versatility of the Omeka platform.
Omeka S is the latest in these developments - a next-generation platform for digital cultural heritage web publishing. The next vision for Omeka, Omeka S, is now in its first Release Candidate. You can try it out for free and see all the new features here: http://omeka.org/s/
Just like Omeka.net, Omeka S is an open source platform for institutions that want to publish linked open data; integrate their collections with the scholarly communications ecosystem; and manage many users & sites from one installation.
Key features include:
- Create and manage many sites
- Publish Linked Open Data
- Describe and share DPLA-ready resources
- Extend with Modules
- Style with responsive Themes
For Modules you can now:
-Extend Omeka S with modules to map, collect, import, and connect resources.
Mapping: Geolocate resources and add maps to your sites.
Collecting: Gather public contributions through your sites.
Custom Vocab: Create controlled vocabulary for a particular property to use when describing a resource.
Metadata Browse: Browse all resources that share a value for a particular property.
New themes available include:
Choose a fully-responsive design theme that fits your project.
Default: The default Omeka S theme.
Cozy: A theme optimized for dense text with subtle navigation.
The Daily: A bold, image-friendly theme with customizable colors that will leave an impression.
Center Row: A light, airy theme with simplicity in mind, using delicate typography to let imagery stand out

“The best way to learn is to experiment; learn more about Omeka S by playing around in the sandbox, pre-populated the sandbox with items, item sets, resource templates, and a few sites. The sandbox also includes many of the modules and themes currently available. Feel free to work with the existing content or add your own.”
