— Abby Cabunoc Mayes (@abbycabs) April 7, 2015 The inaugural #mozsprint was held in July last year and brought together developers and researchers from all over the world to hack on open science projects for two-days straight. At the Melbourne site we hacked on some of our Software Carpentry and Digital Blacksmith teaching materials and received some great assistance from the global community.

— Research Platforms (@ResPlat) August 3, 2014 No matter where you are in the world, the 2015 event will be held from 9am - 5pm on 4-5 June. Following the global timezones, that means things will start in New Zealand and Australia. As our first day progresses we’ll be joined by sites in Asia, South Africa and Europe, and then on
the morning of day two we’ll link up with sites in Brazil, Canada and the US.
If you’ve got an open science project that you’re working on, place the details on the #mozsprint Etherpad and come along to ResBaz HQ (Level 3, Doug McDonell Building, University of Melbourne) for part or all of the two-days. If you’re lucky others in the global community will jump in and help you work on your project, saving you a lot of time and effort. If you don’t have your own project but have the skills and enthusiasm to help others, we’d also very much like to see you there (please put your name under the Melbourne participant list on the Etherpad so we know you’re coming)!
