As part of our ‘CAD in the Cloud’ training initiative, we are starting to provide training to researchers on how they can use 'Computer Aided Design’ modelling apps (such as Sketchup, 3DTin and eventually AutoCAD) to design new products, literally turning their imagination into real physical things!

The initiative is a collaboration between the School of Engineering and IT Research Services to bring researchers from disciplines outside of Engineering together with Engineers to create and foster new ideas and research.

We hope that many of our Digital Blacksmiths being trained every Monday night will go on to compete in the Melbourne Accelerator Programm, where they will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to start-up company investors.
